  • Destination management companies (DMCs) are commonly known for their ability to transform empty hotel ballrooms into magical spaces for special events. However, did you know that a DMC can also help you create extraordinary experiences outside the ballroom? Good DMCs have the ability to deliver the best of a destination, whether indoors or outdoors, for meetings and conventions.

In Dallas/Fort Worth, we are fortunate to have a wide variety of engaging outdoor activities with new options coming online each day. Here are some ways that the destination experts at Ultimate Ventures like to showcase Mother Nature:

pic-funrunFun Runs Need a great way to get your meeting started on the right foot? Ultimate Ventures recently organized a 5K fun run that gave guests plenty of compelling reasons to rise and shine early. Guests were provided a safe running experience on a scenic trail that stretched around the Gaylord Texan Hotel. The run included customized T-shirts, colorful balloons, and an eye-catching inflatable start/finish line with signage, and friendly staffers to make it all happen. Those who ran the race were awarded gift cards plus a stunning sunrise over Lake Grapevine!

Cycling – If you prefer getting around on two wheels, we arrange cycling tours at picturesque hiking/biking trails throughout North Texas. One of the newest options in Dallas is to bike across the Continental Avenue Bridge (as of June 15th, now exclusively a pedestrian bridge) and take in the view of the neighboring (and stunning!) Santiago Calatrava designed Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. Then, ride along the west side of the Trinity River on the brand new Trinity Skyline Trail which provides cyclists with stunning views of the Dallas Skyline. After a heart-pumping ride, guests can settle in on the patio of one of the many sensational restaurants at Trinity Groves for lunch or a sunset happy hour.

Walking Tours – Dallas_KlydeWarrenPark_20_KWP Sitting in front of the foodtrucks_photocred_DowntownDallasIncThe downtown districts of Dallas and Fort Worth have so much to offer and exploring on foot is an excellent way to experience them. Ultimate Ventures arranges private walking tours so your guests can take in the sites… and the fresh air!

A prime area for walking is the Dallas Arts District. This 68-acre, 19-block area encompasses an array of museums, concert halls, churches, restaurants and the fabulous green spaces at Klyde Warren Park. adsense banned Dallas’ West End district also features many captivating sites such as the Old Red Courthouse, the infamous Grassy Knoll, and the Sixth Floor Museum, a museum that embodies the life, legacy, and assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

In downtown Fort Worth, Sundance Square, a lively 35-block entertainment and shopping district is an ideal area to stroll and soak in the area’s history. Sundance Square is named after The Sundance Kid, as in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Their old west gang, the Wild Bunch, spent time in Hell’s Half Acre, a notoriously rough part of downtown Fort Worth at the turn of the 20th century. Learn about the fascinating history of the arrival of some of Fort Worth’s first cowboys, saloons, and gambling houses.
