Cheers to a new year and a new decade! With each year, we look forward to incorporating new trends into our client’s meetings and events. We’ve picked our top three trends for 2020 to share with you to get those creative juices flowing.
Pantone Color of the Year: Classic Blue
Pantone has chosen the “universal favorite”, Classic Blue, for its 2020 Color of the Year. Classic Blue is described as providing calm, confidence, and connection as well as creating an inviting, peaceful atmosphere. Our Creative Services team plans to use Classic Blue in a variety of different ways this year. Selecting classic blue perimeter lighting is an excellent way to create a calm space that brings comfort when networking with other guests. If you’re planning a country chic event, consider using a velvet Classic Blue couch instead of brown leather. Or, how about pairing a monochromatic tablescape with Classic Blue linens and blue florals? No matter the theme or mood you are trying to create, UV has an innovative way to incorporate the “Color of the Year” into your event!
Roaring 20s Themed Events
As we enter the new decade, we can’t help but get nostalgic for the Roaring 20s, an age of Art Deco and Jazz. From Great Gatsby to Speakeasy themes, the options are timeless and so much fun! Welcome guests into another era by making them whisper the secret word at the door to step inside the event. Once inside, they’re met by luxurious décor like old-fashioned bookcases, velvet antique chairs, chaise lounges, and lavish lamps and lighting to brighten dim spaces. Centerpieces consisting of gold wine bottles, candles, and feathers add special touches to highboy tables. Flapper girls serve champagne to guests and bathtubs are filled with ice and beer, reminiscent of the prohibition days. Add a live jazz band and casino tables for entertainment, and you have yourself an unforgettable Roaring 20s event!
