Taking your event to an offsite venue opens a world of possibilities. Simply the act of getting out of the hotel and experiencing a destination up close and personal is cause for excitement!
In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we are oh-so fortunate! Our dual cities have an abundance of offsite event venue options. In fact, the sheer number of possibilities can be downright overwhelming. Just Google “Event Venues in Dallas-Fort Worth” and you’re confronted with page after page of places to hold your next event. What to do?
This is where a Dallas and Fort Worth full-service event planner like Ultimate Ventures becomes your best friend. We’ve either worked in, or conducted detailed site inspections of, the best event venues for corporate groups. We can help you narrow down the endless choices based on your group’s demographics, hotel location, preferred travel time, modes of transportation, budget, plus several other key factors.
In this month’s blog, we spotlight three events that took place in three unique venues that had a built-in “wow” factor. Our event planning team then capitalized upon and customized each venue based on our client’s needs.
Sense of Place: “Cowgirls & Culture” Welcome Reception in the Fort Worth Cultural District
With a city as diverse as Fort Worth, this event zeroed in on a small slice of what makes this city so appealing for residents and guests.
Fort Worth has earned the nickname of the “Museum Capital of the Southwest” thanks to its five walk-able world-class museums in its impressive Cultural District. For this welcome reception for nearly 700 tour association planners, we decked out two fabulous museums in Fort Worth’s Cultural District: the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and the adjacent Fort Worth Museum of Science & History. Although the museums varied greatly in subject matter and architectural styles, they both offered a fascinating perspective on the city.
From gorgeous outdoor spaces to fascinating indoor exhibits, we incorporated the best of both museums as well as the plaza in between which became a “Smores Stop” with campfire seating, fire pits, and bistro lighting. The group had plenty of reasons to move from space to space thanks to engaging entertainment (including two musical acts), fun décor great for photo ops, fresh florals, warm uplighting, and plenty of Fort Worth history to boot!

Right Place, Right Time: Autumn Splendor at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
Sometimes being at the right place at the right time makes all the difference. For this event, we brought all the elements together for this gorgeous salute to Autumn.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is undoubtably one of the most beautiful settings in Dallas. When “A Tasteful Place” event space opened at the Arboretum in the Fall of 2017, it created a whole new way to experience this local treasure. The venue is part of the Arboretum’s newest garden extension which features both an indoor space and a 3.5-acre garden featuring sustainable, locally grown food.
Right Place: The location was ideal for this group. Not only was the Arboretum a short drive from downtown Dallas, but it also had two distinct spaces that we could utilize – the pavilion for a team-building activity and the garden for dinner.
Right Time: The event coincided with annual “Autumn at the Arboretum” festival, named one of “America’s Best Pumpkin Festivals” by Fodor’s Travel. The festival featured the breathtaking colors of fall including 150,000 autumn flowers accented by over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash. Surrounded by a sea of orange, the group was treated to a dazzling event design featuring gorgeous succulent centerpieces arranged along the communal rustic wooden tables.

Shattering Expectations: The Event of the Century at Gilley’s Dallas
Gilley’s Dallas is one of our favorite event venues in Dallas. It’s the perfect setting for totally Texas themed events, but what makes it truly special is its versatility.
For this award-nominated event for 2,800 people, Gilley’s Dallas was transformed into a “Rockin’ through the Decades” theme. The venue featured eight unique event spaces each themed out by decade with décor and lighting. Entertainment was spread throughout the venue with acts like Kool and the Gang. With other event services including a silent disco, a quiet coffee corner, and a glam station, there was something for every taste.
