What’s New This Spring
Welcome to the Spring edition of the Ultimate Update! With the warmer weather comes so many of our favorite things – bluebonnets, baseball, and breathtaking green spaces that come alive this time of year with food and music festivals. It’s a beautiful, bountiful, and busy time for North Texans and our visitors alike to enjoy all that our destination has to offer.
In this issue, join us as we take a deep dive into the city of Arlington and the excitement surrounding the brand new Live! at Loews hotel, Texas Live!, and so much more. We also highlight three awards nominations and two major industry awards wins for the UV team – woo hoo! Then, you will get to know Shannan Christo, our new Senior Account Manager with a long history of selling Dallas. And last, but not least, we share our latest blog about “Planning Like a Champion” with Account Manager, Delaney Costello.

There are so many great things about living in Dallas-Fort Worth! The food, the amazing people, the world class hospitality, the culture, heck, we could go on forever. Perhaps the best part about being situated in the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States (and also the ‘Heart of Texas’) are all the amazing cities in between Dallas-Fort Worth. AT&T Stadium: Home of the Dallas Cowboys

Texas Live!
One of Arlington’s newest attractions, and one of the most popular event destinations in DFW is Texas Live! This bustling and unique entertainment complex opened in the Fall of 2018. Texas Live! features 10 places to eat, drink, or kick up your boots in true Texas fashion, and is the premier destination for any sports fan, or savvy meeting planner. With a 100-foot LED HD screen that’s perfect for branding, over 200,000 square feet of meeting space, and seven venues, Texas Live! can accommodate any group size, and any level of preferred service.

Meet UV’s Newest Sr. Account Manager
Shannan Christo is a local hospitality veteran, and we are thrilled to have her on the UV team. Focusing exclusively on the Dallas-Fort Worth area, she has spent over 20 years honing her hospitality skills in sales, operations, tourism, marketing, events and tours.A true native Texan, Shannan is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Hospitality Management. She got her start as a Sales Manager for Visit Dallas and never looked back. It was there that she developed a passion for promoting Dallas and helping planners navigate the ins and outs of planning meetings and conventions in our colorful and diverse destination.
Since her CVB days, Shannan has engaged in a wide variety of activities from working as a tour guide and field staff for DMCs to planning unique, creative tours and special events for corporate and association clients. In her current role as Senior Account Manager, Shannan is able to use all the tools in her arsenal to give her clients a well-rounded insider’s perspective and to serve as an indispensable resource.
