The UV TeamTwo Prestigious Awards for One Outstanding Event!
Ultimate Ventures celebrated an incredibly exciting first quarter with the win of two of the industry’s top corporate event planning awards.On February 2nd at the Gala Awards ceremony held in New Orleans, UV received a 2018 Gala Award for “Best Event Produced for a Corporation or Association (Under $100,000)”. Special Events Magazine’s Gala Awards showcases the best of the best in the special events industry internationally; from design and decor to logistics and technology.
On Sunday, March 4th, UV took home the trophy for Best Décor Design ($25,000 – $75,000) at the Texas Star Awards ceremony held in San Antonio. The Texas Star Awards, produced by the Texas chapters of the International Live Events Association, is a globally recognized awards competition designed to honor the exceptional professional achievements of individuals and organizations from the Texas events industry.
The winning event of the Gala Award and the Texas Star Award was an awards program created for a luxury hotel chain themed Simplicity Meets Style: An Abstract Koi Pond Awards Night. Held at the W Hotel Dallas, this Koi Pond inspired event was truly unique. Like a koi fish swimming gracefully through water, guests were drawn into a surreal world of sparkling beauty complete with subtle Asian accents, custom décor pieces, and splashes of color provided by otherworldly lighting design.
The UV team is grateful to work with such out-of-the-box thinking clients who allow us the freedom to flex our creative muscles to make their events truly exceptional!

North Texas has seen exponential growth over the past few years that has made a major impact on the Meetings & Events industry. We’re excited to give you an update on some of our favorite Dallas-Fort Worth developments.
Toyota Music Factory
IrvingThe dining & entertainment complex had their official Grand Opening Celebration this April! In addition to the concert venue, The Pavilion, that opened in September, guests can now enjoy the more than 25 restaurants and entertainment options available, as well as, music 365 days of the year. Many of the restaurants offer generous outdoor patios making this a hot spot in the coming warmer months.
Statler Hotel
Downtown DallasThe 19-story landmark hotel has been revived and it’s even better than before! Visitors can now enjoy one of their 159 newly renovated rooms and suites, a rooftop pool and lounge, and nine meeting spaces. Additionally, the hotel features new restaurant and entertainment offerings including, a retro diner, a gastro Asian pub, a subterranean bourbon library, and a social club boasting billiards, ping pong, foosball, cornhole and bowling.
Legacy West Food Hall
PlanoThe 55,000-square-foot, three-story food hall opened over 20 food stalls, half a dozen bars, and its very own craft brewery back in November; however, there was a key piece of the venue that has been in the works since the initial opening. Well, it’s nearing completion! The outdoor space, The Box Garden at Legacy Hall, is a live entertainment venue that will open this May. The outdoor space boasts seating for more than 400 people, repurposed shipping containers for 5 additional food stalls, a 22’x30’ stage with a 600 sq. ft. LED Screen and a green room. This new feature is a patio lovers paradise!
Gaylord Texan Resort
GrapevineAt the beginning of May, the hotel will open the doors of its latest addition, the Vineyard Tower. The tower adds 303 guest rooms to the resort, increasing the resort’s total number of guest rooms to 1,814. The new tower features 86,000 sq. ft. of carpeted meeting space, including a large outdoor terrace and a new 30,000 sq. ft. ballroom. The addition brings the resort’s total meeting space to approximately 490,000 sq. ft. The $120M expansion makes the Gaylord Texan the third largest non-gaming convention/meetings hotel in the US.
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
Grapevine/EulessThe DFW Airport has finished renovations to Terminals A, B, and E, as part of the $2.7 Billion airport upgrade. New restaurant and retail options, larger bag claim areas, technology savvy parking garages, remodeled gates, new ticketing areas and more! There are rumors that they might build a 6th terminal, but that conversation has been tabled until further notice.
The Adolphus Hotel
Downtown DallasThe extensive renovations and restorations are wrapping up now at the historic hotel. Renovations that started nearly 2 years ago include a reimagined hotel lobby, updated décor in the 407 guest rooms and 56 suites, revitalized ball rooms, and a completely new 5,000 sq. ft. spa and rooftop pool. Guests can now enjoy The French Room, which was restored to its former glory and features a fresh menu, as well as, the hotel’s new restaurant offerings, City Hall Bistro and Otto’s Coffee Shop.

Join us in welcoming our two new fabulous team members! Christi Bartholomew, Sr. Account Manager, brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality and service industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to the sales team. Joanna McEvoy, Operations Manager, has come all the way from the Windy City to join our Operations team. We are thrilled to have both of these wonderful women join our team! Texas Travel and Tourism Town Hall Meeting
We’re proud of our President, Laurie Sprouse, CITE, CMP, DMCP for lending her voice and speaking to state legislatures about issues affecting businesses in the Texas tour and travel industry.
As a small business owner, Laurie was asked on behalf of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) to participate at the Texas Travel and Tourism Town Hall Meeting in Grapevine, Texas, on April 17, 2018.
