In the mood for something completely different? Then this is the blog for you! At Ultimate Ventures we love discovering the newest and most exciting spots in our destination and boy have we hit the jackpot! Here are a few of our favorite quirky and unique bars to add to our long “must do” list in Dallas!
East Bound and Down Ice House – East Dallas
What’s old is new again at this Smokey and the Bandit themed bar slated to open late April 2016. The décor will play tribute to the 70’s movie starring Burt Reynolds. The exterior wall of the bar will feature a mural of the stagecoach and horses that were on the side of Jerry Reed’s truck in the film. The large backyard space will include a patio and stage for live acoustic performances. Patrons will enjoy sipping on nothing-fancy cocktails and nearly a dozen craft beers.
The Goat Ranch – Fair Park
Fair Park is home to this new country-themed bar with a driving range out back. Boasting a backyard of broken down automobiles, this bar will give patrons the opportunity to release some tension as they launch golf balls with baseball bats and tennis racquets at the busted automobiles on one of their 15 hitting bays. The new space will also feature a rustic beer garden and various billiards, vintage arcade games, tetherball, ping pong and basketball. The bar took over the space of a former meat company and will be decorated throughout, from the patio to the bathroom, with beer signs, taxidermy and hand welded furniture. Guests will have their choice of beverages from 32 Texas craft beers on tap to a full liquor bar. In lieu of a kitchen, the Goat Ranch will be welcoming food trucks to satisfy the hunger cravings of their patrons. Phase 2 of development, includes the completion of the driving range, and is expected to be complete in the summer.
Luck – Trinity Groves
Who said being an adult wasn’t fun?! You’re in LUCK if you’ve been searching for a bar that pairs delicious donuts with North Texas craft beer! Currently on their 12th installment of the Glazed Donut Works & Beer Pairing flight (after a brief hiatus with Girl Scout cookie pairings), Luck offers this exciting and delicious pairing to groups who are interested in a buyout or dine around option. Located at the Trinity Groves entertainment district, the restaurant features regional comfort food and local craft beer in their casual upscale ambience. Just about any spot on their large patio is ideal for taking in the view of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in front of that gorgeous Dallas skyline.
Alamo Drafthouse – The Cedars
This not-so-typical movie theater is breaking the mold with its unique programming, dining options, and more! Just a couple of minutes from Downtown Dallas, the Alamo Drafthouse in the Cedars features it’s very own restaurant, Vetted Well, complete with a dining room, bar and two massive outdoor patios with magnificent skyline views. Diners will enjoy from-scratch plates, nearly 50 craft beers and specialty cocktails with fancy Dallas themed names like the “Grassy Knoll”. In addition to new releases, family and independent films, the theater is most known for its unique signature theater programming like sing-alongs and cereal parties. Patrons can also enjoy one of their four private themed karaoke rooms, the occasional concert and outdoor movie screening on the back patio. The theater is available for private rentals for Business Meetings, Product Launches, Team-building activities, and more, offering your guests the ultimate VIP experience.
