Alas, the winter gloom has passed. Although Spring is officially a few weeks away, you would never know it in North Texas. Here are some of our favorite places to enjoy this glorious time of the year.
Stop and Smell the Roses at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
Just minutes from downtown Dallas, the world-class 66-acre urban oasis features 19 finely manicured gardens, Seasonal Festivals and activities, educational programs, and various indoor and outdoor private event spaces. Guests can peruse the colorful gardens at their leisure before settling down for a lunch meeting in the beautiful Alex Camp House overlooking the tranquil White Rock Lake. Each spring, the Arboretum hosts the largest floral festival in the Southwest featuring a variety of 100 kinds of spring bulbs totaling a dazzling 500,000 blooms throughout the gardens. Named in 2015 as one of America’s Best Spring Floral Festivals by Fodor’s Travel, the Dallas Bloom festival is not to be missed! The festival is open now through April 10th.
Baseball season is right around the corner with the Texas Rangers season opener on April 4th at their home, Globe Life Park in Arlington. Of course, Rangers fans weren’t surprised to learn that Globe Life Park was ranked one of “Americas Top 10 Ballparks”. Groups can experience a game or take a tour of the open-air stadium. Whether it’s game day or for a private event, this Ballpark is always a home run!
Soar through the Sky in a Vintage Warbird
Why view Dallas by ground when you can see it from above in actual warbirds that still fly in airshows today? The Cavanaugh Flight Museum offers rides over North Dallas in one of their distinctive warbird aircrafts. UV can design a complete experience of flights, food trucks, and fun as guests watch aviation history unfold before them.
With more than 200 golf courses of varied levels of play in Dallas alone, the North Texas area has plenty to offer the golf enthusiasts in your group. Golf Digest ranked Dallas/Fort Worth as a Top 20 Golf City for the area’s ample sunshine, beautiful fairways and low green fees. Dallas is also an exclusive home to revolutionary driving ranges being named “The New Game in Golf”. A silicone microchip inside every quality golf ball gives players instant feedback on their shots and every shot can score points. The exciting and no pressure environment make it the perfect spot to get some fresh air with a group and enjoy some friendly competition.
Discover your Inner Foodie at the Dallas Farmers Market
Recent renovations have drawn the crowds in to the new and revitalized Dallas Farmers Market. Grab a “wagon” and peruse the open-air pavilion named “The Shed” for fresh produce, dairy and other products from high-quality vendors and local famers. Live music, cooking classes, chef demos can all be part of the mix, not to mention four new delicious anchor restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating.
Get Up Close & Personal at the Fort Worth Zoo
Founded in 1909, this is the oldest continuous zoo site in Texas and one of the best. The Fort Worth zoo has grown into a nationally ranked facility, housing almost 7,000 native and exotic animals. Guests enjoy an up close experience in the natural habitat exhibits where they are often only separated from the animals by a river or pane of glass. The zoo features highly acclaimed education programs that cater to all ages, as well as, conservation programs ranked among the most respected in the world. The exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, private pavilions and unique attractions make it a memorable experience for groups of all sizes.
